The Swat District Administration, in collaboration with the Swat Development Authority, has sealed several illegal ziplines operating at popular tourist destinations after authorities found they were functioning without the required No Objection Certificates (NoCs).
The enforcement action was carried out during a joint inspection of multiple tourist attractions across the Swat Valley. Officials said the operation was aimed at ensuring public safety and enforcing regulations governing adventure tourism activities.
Among the locations where illegal ziplines were sealed were Mahodand Lake, Saifullah Lake, and Chashma Shafa Aabshar. Authorities also inspected other tourist sites to identify operators failing to comply with safety and licensing requirements.
Officials stated that the zipline operators had not obtained the mandatory NoCs required to legally operate such facilities. Adventure tourism businesses are expected to meet safety standards and secure the necessary approvals before offering services to visitors.
The move reflects ongoing efforts by local authorities to improve safety measures at Swat’s growing number of tourist attractions. With thousands of domestic and international visitors traveling to the region every year, ensuring that recreational activities comply with official regulations has become a key priority.
The district administration has urged all tourism operators to complete the required legal and safety procedures before launching or continuing commercial operations. Authorities also warned that further action could be taken against businesses found violating regulations.
The latest crackdown underscores the government’s commitment to promoting safe and responsible tourism while protecting visitors at some of Pakistan’s most popular scenic destinations.
