The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed authorities across Punjab to take strict action against individuals involved in illegal waste disposal, reinforcing efforts to tackle environmental pollution and improve air quality in the province.
The directive came during a hearing on multiple petitions related to smog prevention and environmental protection. Justice Shahid Karim, who has been overseeing several environmental cases, emphasized the need for stronger enforcement measures to address practices that contribute to pollution and public health concerns.
As part of the court’s latest instructions, police departments throughout Punjab have been ordered to register cases against those found unlawfully dumping waste.
