Al-Azhar University, a revered name in Islamic education, has announced its plans to establish a campus in Pakistan. The decision was revealed during a meeting in Islamabad between Education Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Egypt’s Grand Mufti Nazir Mohamed Ayad, marking a significant milestone in the educational collaboration between the two countries.

Championing Women’s Education

Grand Mufti Ayad emphasized Al-Azhar’s dedication to women’s education, with women constituting over 40% of the university’s student body. This initiative aligns with the broader goal of empowering women through knowledge and dismantling stereotypes about Islam’s stance on women’s education.

Pakistan’s focus on women’s education will be highlighted at the International Girls Conference, scheduled for January 11-12. This event will bring together over 2,000 female students from various educational institutions across the country to discuss and celebrate advancements in girls’ education in the Islamic world.
