PML-N Delegation Meets PPP Leadership at Benazir Bhutto’s Death Anniversary, Discusses National Issues

A high-level Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) delegation met with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh on the occasion of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s death anniversary, reaffirming coalition ties and discussing key national and political matters. The visit also included prayers for the late former prime minister, highlighting the enduring respect for her contributions to Pakistan’s democracy.

Led by National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, the PML-N delegation included Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah, Federal Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, and several members of the National Assembly. The delegation first arrived in Sukkur before proceeding to Garhi Khuda Bakhsh as part of official engagements on special instructions from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

During the visit, the PML-N team met with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former President Asif Ali Zardari. Sources reported that discussions focused on pressing national and political issues, reflecting ongoing coordination and consultation between the two major parties. Central leaders from both PML-N and PPP were present, emphasizing the depth of the working relationship.

The delegations jointly offered prayers for the eternal peace of Benazir Bhutto, acknowledging her sacrifices and significant role in advancing democracy, women’s rights, and the rule of law in Pakistan. President Asif Ali Zardari expressed his appreciation to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for sending the delegation, highlighting that the gesture strengthened political understanding and solidarity between coalition partners.

Speaking to media upon arrival in Sukkur, Ayaz Sadiq described Benazir Bhutto as “a great daughter of Pakistan” whose legacy continues to inspire democratic values, tolerance, and public welfare. He emphasized that the relationship between PML-N and PPP is longstanding and rooted in shared sacrifices for democracy, adding that both parties “intend to play a long innings together” in politics.

Sadiq also addressed current political dynamics, reiterating that the doors of dialogue remain open for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and highlighting the importance of parliamentary engagement over political deadlock. Adviser Rana Sanaullah criticized the PTI leadership for spreading anarchy from jail, emphasizing that national problems can only be resolved through sustained political dialogue and engagement.

The visit and discussions reaffirmed coalition cooperation, strengthened mutual respect, and underlined both parties’ commitment to democracy and parliamentary dialogue, while commemorating the enduring legacy of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
