Saudi Arabia Ends Multiple-Entry Visas for 14 Nations
Saudi Arabia has implemented a significant change in its visa policy, affecting Pakistan and 13 other countries. The authorities have suspended the one-year multiple-entry visas for tourism, business, and family visits.
From February 1, 2025, visitors from these 14 countries can now only obtain single-entry visas, limiting their stay and movement within the Kingdom.
Countries Affected by the New Visa Policy
The following nations are impacted by the updated visa regulations:
- Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Ethiopia, Jordan, Morocco, Nigeria, Sudan, Tunisia, and Yemen.
Reasons Behind the Visa Policy Change
Saudi authorities have introduced this restriction to prevent unauthorized Hajj pilgrimages. Many visitors were reportedly misusing long-term visit visas to bypass the official Hajj quota, leading to stricter visa control.
The new policy aims to regulate pilgrimage travel and ensure that only officially registered pilgrims can participate in the annual Hajj.
New Visa Requirements and Application Process
For individuals from these 14 nations, Saudi Arabia now offers only a single-entry visa, which:
- Is valid for 30 days
- Allows a maximum stay of 30 days per visit
- Requires biometric verification at designated Etimad visa centers across Pakistan and other affected countries
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia continues to promote its multiple-entry visa for citizens of other countries, enabling year-round tourism and business travel.
Hajj 2025 Registration Open for Domestic Pilgrims
In a related development, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced the Hajj 2025 registration for citizens and residents within the Kingdom.
Applicants are encouraged to apply via the Nusuk app or the official e-portal. Early registration is advised, especially for those who require special exemptions, including the Mahram requirement for female pilgrims.
Additionally, priority will be given to first-time pilgrims, ensuring fair access to the sacred journey.
