PAF Chief Meets Saudi Military Leadership to Strengthen Defence Ties

Pakistan Air Force Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar has held a series of high-level meetings with Saudi military leadership, reaffirming the strong and evolving defence partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The engagements took place following his arrival in the Kingdom, highlighting the importance both countries place on close military cooperation.

Upon his arrival in Saudi Arabia, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar was warmly received by Saudi Chief of Staff General Fayyad Al-Ruwaili. The reception reflected the depth of longstanding defence relations and mutual respect shared by the armed forces of both nations.

During the meeting, the two military leaders held detailed discussions on Pak-Saudi military relations and exchanged views on regional security dynamics. Matters of professional interest and shared strategic concerns were also discussed, underscoring the alignment between Islamabad and Riyadh on key defence issues.

A major focus of the talks was on strengthening existing defence cooperation and enhancing institutional linkages between the two countries’ armed forces. Both sides reviewed current collaboration frameworks and explored opportunities for expanding cooperation in line with emerging regional and global security challenges.

The leadership reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination in the evolving security environment. Emphasis was placed on sustained engagement, mutual support, and regular high-level interactions to further solidify defence ties.

As part of his visit, the PAF chief also met with the Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Turki bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz. Senior officers from both the Pakistan Air Force and the Royal Saudi Air Force were present during the meeting, reflecting the importance of the engagement.

The discussions with the Saudi Air Force leadership focused on promoting deeper bilateral cooperation between the two air forces. Both sides agreed to enhance professional collaboration, capacity building initiatives, and the exchange of operational experience to strengthen air power capabilities.

The meetings highlighted a shared resolve to expand cooperation across multiple domains, including training, operational readiness, and strategic planning. Strengthening interoperability between the Pakistan and Saudi air forces was identified as a key objective moving forward.

These high-level engagements underline the enduring nature of Pak-Saudi defence relations. The visit reflects continued efforts by both countries to deepen military-to-military ties, support regional stability, and build a strong foundation for future defence collaboration.
