All 10 Bidders for New PSL Teams Confirmed Ahead of 2026 Auction

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set to expand from six to eight franchises, and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially revealed the 10 groups eligible to bid for the two new team licenses. This development marks a significant step in PSL’s growth, as it prepares for its 11th season.

The auction will take place on January 8 at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad. The new franchises are expected to debut in PSL 11, scheduled from March 26 to May 3, 2026, bringing fresh energy and competition to Pakistan’s premier T20 tournament.

Qualified Bidders for PSL Expansion

  1. Inverex (Renewable Energy)
    Inverex Solar Energy, a leading name in Pakistan’s renewable energy sector, has qualified as a bidder. Known for solar power solutions and prior PSL sponsorship, Inverex aims to secure one of the new franchises with strong corporate backing.
  2. OZ Group / OZI Developers (Real Estate)
    OZ Group, led by Hamza Majeed, operates in real estate and development through OZI Developers. The company has publicly shown interest in investing in sports and entertainment, eyeing a stake in the expanding PSL ecosystem.
  3. VGO Tel (Technology)
    Karachi-based VGO Tel, headed by CEO Naveed Gaba, represents the technology sector’s growing interest in Pakistan’s cricket business. The company aims to leverage PSL’s commercial and branding opportunities through team ownership.
  4. Jazz (Telecom)
    Telecom giant Jazz, a major sponsor and strategic partner of PSL in previous seasons, has entered as a bidder. The company’s participation highlights corporate confidence and the commercial appeal of PSL’s nationwide reach.
  5. DSM Tareen Group (Business / Sports)
    Led by businessman Ali Khan Tareen, former owner of the Multan Sultans, DSM Tareen Group is returning to PSL ownership ambitions. The group seeks to reclaim its presence in the league with strategic investments in the new franchises.
  6. i2c (Fintech)
    Global fintech platform i2c, founded by US-based Pakistani entrepreneur Aamir Waien, has qualified as a bidder. The company specializes in payment and banking solutions, showcasing international investor interest in Pakistan’s cricket sector.
  7. Walee Tech (Media & Fintech)
    Walee Tech, operating in both media and financial technology, is aiming to expand its digital presence by acquiring a PSL team. The move highlights the league’s growing appeal to tech-driven enterprises.

The remaining three bidders are expected to be officially announced closer to the auction date, completing the list of 10 qualified groups. With the new franchises, PSL 11 is expected to attract heightened competition, investment, and fan engagement across Pakistan.
