Farhan Saeed and Sabeena Farooq Call for Responsible Reporting After Pahalgam Attack

Rising Tensions Between India and Pakistan

In the wake of the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, prominent Pakistani actors Farhan Saeed and Sabeena Farooq have voiced serious concerns regarding the role of Indian media.

At least 26 innocent lives were lost when gunmen opened fire on tourists earlier this week, intensifying tensions between the two neighboring countries.

Farhan Saeed Criticizes Indian Media

Taking to Instagram, Farhan Saeed condemned the brutal attack but did not shy away from criticizing the Indian media’s coverage.

He wrote, “As much as it’s sad what happened in #pahalqam, it’s cringeworthy to see Indian media, the most irresponsible and the agitator!”

Highlighting the pattern of sensationalism, he warned that irresponsible reporting could escalate conflicts between India and Pakistan, causing unimaginable suffering for citizens on both sides.

He urged the Indian press to prioritize responsibility over TRPs.

Sabeena Farooq Echoes the Sentiment

Actress Sabeena Farooq, also deeply affected by the tragedy, accused Indian outlets of spreading hate rather than focusing on humanity.

In a heartfelt post, she wrote, “Khudara chahe wo Palestine hai ya Pahalgam, ghar ujre hain, pyaron ke samne pyare qatal ho gaye.”

She emphasized the pain experienced by survivors and pleaded with both Indian and Pakistani media to approach such incidents with empathy and respect.

Farooq strongly urged, “Har takleef opportunity nahi banani chahiye (Every tragedy should not be turned into an opportunity).”

Broader Industry Response

Several Pakistani celebrities including Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir, Fawad Khan, and Mawra Hocane have also spoken out, condemning the attack and urging for peace and responsibility in the media narratives.
