Attendance and Travel Perks
MNAs earn Rs 8,800 for attending each session of the National Assembly or Standing Committee meetings. Travel allowances include Rs 150 per kilometer for air travel in business class and Rs 25 per kilometer for road travel.

Legal Challenge on Vehicle Procurement
The Punjab government’s decision to procure new vehicles for additional commissioners and other revenue officials has been legally challenged. Advocate Mudassir Chaudhry filed the petition on behalf of Sheeraz Altaf, questioning the appropriateness of such expenditures given the economic situation.
Petitioner’s Perspective
The petition contends that public funds should be directed towards public welfare during economic instability. It also argues that the caretaker government lacks the mandate to make such expenditures beyond managing routine affairs.
Court’s Involvement
The petition calls for the court to nullify the procurement notification. A government letter dated July 20, 2023, requested approval for Rs 2333.747 million to purchase vehicles for Additional Commissioners, Additional Deputy Commissioners, and Assistant Commissioners.
