ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – The caretaker federal government of Pakistan has announced a reduction in diesel prices, while keeping petrol prices unchanged.
The price of diesel has been reduced by Rs7 per litre, while the price of kerosene oil has been reduced by Rs3.82 per litre and the price of light-speed diesel (LSD) has been reduced by Rs4.52 per litre.
The new price of petrol remains at Rs281.34 per litre, while the new price of diesel is Rs296.71 per litre. The new price of kerosene oil is Rs204.98 per litre and the new price of LSD is Rs180.45 per litre.
This is the second time that the caretaker government has reduced fuel prices in Pakistan. On November 15, the government reduced petrol and diesel prices by Rs2.04 per litre and Rs6.47 per litre, respectively.
The government has said that the decision to reduce fuel prices is in line with its policy of providing relief to the people of Pakistan.
The price of petrol and diesel in Pakistan is determined by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA). OGRA takes into account factors such as the international oil price, the exchange rate, and the government’s revenue needs when setting fuel prices.
