Bahria Town founder Malik Riaz Hussain has appealed to Field Marshal Asim Munir and other senior authorities to intervene in what he described as a continuing crackdown against Bahria Town and the seizure and auction of its assets.
In a written appeal, Malik Riaz raised concerns over the disposal of properties linked to Bahria Town, arguing that the ongoing actions could have serious consequences for the company’s development projects and its ability to meet legal and financial obligations.
According to Malik Riaz, assets valued at around Rs. 238.6 billion have either been seized, auctioned or placed at risk of disposal. He said the matter remains subject to proceedings before courts and other legal forums.
The Bahria Town founder maintained that the disposal of major properties while related legal cases are pending could create complications for all parties involved.
He further argued that selling valuable assets under distressed conditions could significantly reduce their value. In his view, such a situation could affect the company’s capacity to continue development work and fulfill its commitments.
The appeal comes amid a broader legal and financial dispute surrounding Bahria Town’s assets and operations. The company has faced significant scrutiny and legal challenges, with questions surrounding the ownership, seizure and disposal of various properties.
Malik Riaz has called for intervention from senior authorities, including Field Marshal Asim Munir, seeking what he considers a fair resolution to the ongoing situation.
The appeal also highlights concerns about the potential impact of asset auctions on ongoing housing and infrastructure projects. Bahria Town has developed large residential communities in different parts of Pakistan, involving extensive investments in housing, roads, commercial areas and other facilities.
According to Malik Riaz’s position, the continued seizure or sale of core assets could make it more difficult for the company to maintain its development activities and fulfill outstanding responsibilities.
The legal status of individual properties and cases remains an important part of the dispute. Since several matters have been taken before courts and other forums, further developments are likely to depend on judicial and regulatory proceedings.
The appeal has brought renewed attention to the financial and legal challenges facing Bahria Town. It also raises questions about how disputed corporate assets should be handled while litigation remains ongoing.
For residents, investors, employees and other stakeholders associated with Bahria Town projects, the outcome of the dispute could have wider implications.
Any future intervention or court decision could determine the fate of disputed assets and influence the company’s ability to continue its operations and development projects.
The matter is expected to remain under close observation as the relevant legal proceedings and decisions progress.
