Sui Southern Launches Sahulat Van to Provide Doorstep Gas Customer Services in Karachi

Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has launched a new mobile customer facilitation unit, named the Sahulat Van, to bring essential gas-related services directly to residents in Karachi. The initiative aims to improve customer experience by reducing the need for people to visit physical customer service centres for routine complaints and inquiries.

The Sahulat Van has been introduced in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Johar area as part of SSGC’s efforts to make gas-related services more accessible and convenient. By taking customer support into neighborhoods, the company hopes to resolve common issues more quickly while enhancing public satisfaction.

According to an official statement issued by SSGC, the mobile unit has been designed to provide a wide range of customer services at residents’ doorsteps. The initiative is expected to save customers both time and effort by offering assistance without requiring a trip to a facilitation centre.

Among the services available through the Sahulat Van are the registration and resolution of complaints related to gas leakage, low gas pressure, and faulty gas meters. These issues are among the most frequently reported by domestic consumers, and the new service aims to provide a faster response.

The mobile facilitation unit will also assist customers facing billing-related concerns. Residents can have billing disputes reviewed, request corrections to billing errors, and receive duplicate gas bills printed instantly, making it easier to manage their accounts without unnecessary delays.

In addition to complaint handling, the Sahulat Van will provide guidance to individuals interested in applying for new gas connections. Customers will be able to receive information about the application process, required documentation, and other procedural details from SSGC representatives.

SSGC selected Gulistan-e-Johar as the starting point for the initiative due to the large number of complaints and service requests originating from the area. By deploying the mobile unit where customer demand is highest, the company aims to improve service delivery and reduce response times.

The launch reflects SSGC’s broader focus on modernising customer services and making public utilities more accessible through innovative solutions. Mobile service units have become an effective way for utility providers to extend support directly into communities while reducing pressure on traditional customer service centres.

Residents of Gulistan-e-Johar are expected to benefit from quicker access to essential gas services, particularly for issues that require immediate attention, such as gas leak complaints and meter-related problems. The initiative may also serve as a model for expanding similar services to other areas if it proves successful.

The introduction of the Sahulat Van highlights SSGC’s commitment to improving customer engagement through convenient, community-based service delivery. By bringing assistance closer to consumers, the company aims to streamline complaint resolution and make essential gas services more efficient for households across Karachi.
