Oil and Gas Development Company Limited has announced a notable increase in oil production from its Kal-03 well located in Chakwal District. The improvement follows a successful workover operation aimed at enhancing the well’s performance and optimizing output.
Before the intervention, the Kal-03 well was producing approximately 50 barrels of oil per day under natural flow conditions. Company officials confirmed that technical adjustments and remedial measures have now significantly raised daily production levels, strengthening OGDC’s overall output profile.
A workover operation typically involves maintenance, repair, or stimulation activities designed to restore or enhance well productivity. In this case, the procedure helped improve reservoir access and flow efficiency, allowing for greater extraction from the existing well infrastructure.
The Kal-03 well is situated in District Chakwal, an area known for its hydrocarbon potential within the Potohar region. Increased production from the site is expected to contribute positively to domestic oil supply and reduce reliance on imported energy resources.
