The Government of Pakistan has introduced a facilitative measure for Hajj pilgrims by announcing the provision of free SIM cards equipped with call and internet packages during their stay in Saudi Arabia. The initiative, led by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, aims to enhance communication and convenience for thousands of pilgrims यात्राing this year.
According to ministry spokesperson Umer Butt, the decision has been taken to ensure that pilgrims remain connected with their families back home as well as with Hajj officials. Reliable communication is often a major concern during the pilgrimage, and this move is expected to address that challenge effectively.
Under the announced plan, individuals opting for the 40-day Hajj package will receive SIM cards loaded with 600 minutes for both local and international calls. In addition, pilgrims will also be provided with 40GB of internet data, allowing them to stay in touch through messaging apps, video calls, and other digital platforms.
This initiative reflects the government’s broader effort to improve the overall Hajj experience by integrating digital convenience with essential services.
