Upon his arrival, the field marshal was warmly received by the commandant of the National Police Academy and presented with a guard of honour by a well-disciplined police contingent. He later laid a wreath at the Police Martyrs’ Monument and offered prayers in remembrance of police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

During the visit, Field Marshal Asim Munir paid tribute to the sacrifices made by police officers in the war on terror and in combating crime and internal security threats.
