Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended a Christmas ceremony at the Prime Minister’s House, paying tribute to Hazrat Isa (AS) and highlighting the valuable contributions of Pakistan’s Christian community. Addressing the gathering, he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to equality, justice, and protection of minority rights, emphasizing that any atrocity against minorities will be met with the full force of law.

Sharif described the birth of Hazrat Isa (AS) as a divine blessing for all humanity and praised his teachings of compassion, justice, and resistance against oppression. He underscored the historic role of minorities in Pakistan, particularly Christians, recognizing their contributions in education, defense, and nation-building.

The prime minister also paid tribute to the armed forces and Christian heroes, recalling the sacrifices of individuals like Haroon William and legendary air hero Cecil Chaudhry. He emphasized that their courage and dedication remain symbols of national pride.

Sharif reiterated that the founding principles of Pakistan, as envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, guarantee full legal rights, freedom of worship, and protection for all citizens. He noted that during Pakistan Muslim League-N governments, Nawaz Sharif consistently promoted religious harmony and actively participated in minority festivals to strengthen interfaith unity.

Highlighting Islamic values of kindness, tolerance, and respect, Sharif urged society to honor the beliefs of all communities. He assured minorities of the government’s unwavering support and pledged to uphold their rights at all times.

Both Prime Minister Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari extended Christmas greetings to Pakistan’s Christian community, emphasizing the importance of unity, religious freedom, and mutual respect. The leaders recognized the Christian community’s role in fostering social cohesion, contributing to economic development, and promoting peace throughout the country.

Sharif concluded by urging all Pakistanis to renew their commitment to nation-building and social harmony, calling Christmas a celebration of love, goodwill, and shared humanity.
