Punjab Approves Rs. 520 Million for Murree and Galyat Tourism Infrastructure

The Punjab government has announced a major allocation of Rs. 520 million to promote tourism in Murree and Galyat. The goal is to improve the tourist experience by enhancing infrastructure and safety measures, particularly during the winter months when these regions see a surge in visitors.

One of the main projects involves upgrading the road network to ensure safer travel for tourists. Snow removal and road expansions are also planned to prevent disruptions caused by heavy snowfall, particularly in Galyat. This will allow tourists to access these popular winter destinations more easily.

Efforts to secure landslide-prone areas are also underway. These regions are at high risk during the winter due to ice and snow, and the government is taking steps to mitigate these hazards.

Water Supply Solutions for Tourists and Residents

A key challenge in Murree and Galyat has been the shortage of water during peak tourist seasons. To address this, the government has planned water supply projects and the construction of storage tanks, which will benefit both residents and tourists.

Different authorities have been assigned specific tasks for the smooth implementation of these projects. The Murree district administration will manage snow clearing and road cleaning, while the Galyat Development Authority will oversee road maintenance and water supply.

In addition to enhancing local infrastructure, roads connecting Punjab, Azad Kashmir, and Galyat will be improved, making the region more accessible and boosting tourism.
